How to use IELTS mock exams effectively

Taking a mock is step one. Review is where bands actually rise.

Before: simulate test conditions

Quiet room, no phone, strict timers, complete all four modules in order. A mock taken in pieces over three days doesn't measure readiness.

During: treat it like the real exam

No dictionary, no pausing audio, no extra breaks. Accept that you will miss some answers — practise moving on instead of panicking.

After: error analysis within 24 hours

Review every wrong Listening/Reading answer — was it vocabulary, paraphrase, or carelessness? For Writing, compare your essay to the question: did you answer all parts?

Track trends, not single scores

One mock is a snapshot. Three mocks over six weeks show whether your study plan works. Use band history on mymockexam.uz to adjust focus.
